Royalty Fee Increases Threaten To Close Aardvark Blues FM
Aardvark Blues FM has become the Internet's favorite Blues Radio Stream thanks to the thousands of loyal listeners we have had join us over the years. We are truly grateful for your support and excellent feedback. March set a monthly performance record of songs heard by our Blues fans. However this large increase in listeners has brought on problems that are out of our control... For the second time in a year, our Monthly Royalty Payments have once again increased by 100% by the Music Licensing Companies (PRO's). This is a blatant effort to eliminate Internet Radio Stations. We have remained a Commercial Free Station since we went on the air, but can no longer sustain the financial burden of the new rates without in-stream advertising, the LAST thing we want to do.
As a result, we may have to close this station in the near future without the help of our loyal listeners. The only alternative is to kindly ask you for a small monthly donation to help us offset the enormous new monthly operating costs. In turn, we will promise to keep Aardvark Blues FM and the Blues, Alive and Commercial Free
Broadcasting from Houston-Texas, Aardvark Blues FM brings you the very best in Blues & Modern Blues here on the internet. In May of 2011, the station was launched for the love of the Blues and has grown to one of online radio's premier stations because of all of you, our loyal listeners. Thank you!
We have recently moved Aardvark Blues FM to a new stream provider (Live 365) after our former provider discontinued providing licensing coverage.
Due to recent changes in America's internet broadcasting rules, industry wide changes in music licensing agreements and the rising licensing costs here in the United States, we have added two minutes of commercials per hour, allowing us to continue to broadcast the Blues. Access our new stream with the Popup Player here on our website or by listening via the free TuneIn or Live365 Apps.
